Danvers: Our Home Base
Our business address is 99 Conifer Hill Dr, Danvers, MA 01923, and Danvers is the town we cover most closely. That includes Danvers Center, Danversport, Ferncroft, Burley's Corner, Tapleyville, Putnamville and Hathorne, which has its own ZIP, 01937.
The Town of Danvers Water Division supplies most of town and Middleton. The Town Sewer Division maintains the main sewer. That split decides who repairs what: the town fixes the main line in the street, and you own the pipe from the curb stop to the house.
Danvers By Village And Neighborhood
Danvers is a town of about 14.1 square miles, and its villages feel like separate places. The villages are Danvers Center, Danversport, Ferncroft, Burley's Corner, Tapleyville, Putnamville and Hathorne. Danversport lies along the tidal Danvers River, and the town lists its marina and John George Park among its coastal vulnerabilities, so low spots near the water deserve extra care in a storm.
Hathorne has its own post office and ZIP 01937, and the Putnamville Reservoir sits at the north end of town, though it is not a Danvers drinking source. Highways and routes crisscross the town, including I-95, Route 128, US Route 1 and Routes 35, 62 and 114. One address can be a short drive from another yet sit on a very different street, soil and pipe age.
Housing age matters across all of them. Census data from 2020 to 2024 puts about 25.4 percent of Danvers homes at 1939 or earlier, and about 69.5 percent before 1980. Older houses are where we see galvanized supply lines, clay sewer laterals and aging water heaters, so your village is less important than your house's age.
Flooding reaches several parts of town. The Town reports flooding near the Danvers Electric property, Town Center, the Porter River, Beaver Brook, the Crane River and the Waters River. FEMA zone AE covers Beaver Brook and the Crane River and Crane Brook, so basements near those waterways are the first to ask about a sump pump or basement waterproofing.
Peabody, Beverly, Middleton And Topsfield
Peabody is a city on Danvers' south side with its own water department. Beverly sits to the east and takes water from the Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board. Both belong to the South Essex Sewerage District along with Danvers.
Middleton shares the Danvers water system, yet most homes there use septic systems. Topsfield lies north, with its own water department serving about 80 percent of the town. Each page explains what that means before you call.
How Each Town Differs
The five towns share a county but not their plumbing. Danvers and Middleton draw from the same Danvers system, centered on Middleton Pond. Peabody runs its own city water department. Beverly relies on the Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board. Topsfield has its own water department, which serves about 80 percent of the town.
Sewer arrangements split the same way. Danvers, Peabody and Beverly all belong to the South Essex Sewerage District, so a public sewer is the norm in those places. Middleton homes mostly use septic systems, and much of Topsfield sits outside any public sewer. A backup in a septic town is a different question from a backup on a town sewer.
Permits also change at each border. Danvers Inspectional Services at 1 Sylvan Street handles local permits, and the other towns run their own offices with their own portals and hours. The state rule is the same everywhere, but local timing is not, so each town page tells you what to ask your inspector.
What To Expect When You Call
Give the dispatcher your street, your town and what is happening, and expect a few direct questions about water, gas and access. The plumber who arrives is licensed, explains the cause and the options, and states a price before work starts. Nothing begins until you agree.
Our line answers around the clock, including weekends and holidays. If you are not sure which page fits your situation, start with the contact page and call. Dispatch will confirm your address and tell you whether we can reach it.
Nearby Places We Can Discuss
Lynnfield, Boxford, Hamilton, Salem and Wenham do not have their own pages. If you live there, call and ask whether your address is within dispatch range. Hathorne, a Danvers village, is covered as part of Danvers.
How Dispatch Handles Your Address
When you call, give a street address, the town and what is happening. Dispatch confirms the location before sending a plumber, which matters in border areas where a mailing town can differ from the municipality. Have the cross street ready if you can.
Want to read ahead on a specific repair? The services page lists every service we dispatch for.
Whatever the town, installation and repair work follows the Massachusetts Uniform State Plumbing Code, 248 CMR 10.00, which is the standard each local inspector applies.
